Zen and the art of assassinating spam

Someone was asking about the Zen RBL from Spamhaus.org, it just
occurred to me I should mention this for anyone who doesn't read the
not-so-fine print.

Do NOT use Zen for scoring mail bodies, Spamhaus tells you this and
it will get you in trouble. Zen has includes dynamic IP addresses,
bad things to be talking to postfix with, just fine inside a mail
body. Even Internic made this error and was rejecting mailing lists
anytime a post contained a link to a dynamic IP address (such as my
sig below, our web server is dynamic, our outgoing mail server is not).

Anyway, just a warning before someone makes that mistake. See the
www.spamhaus.org web pages for more info on the lists they have.

l = link
d = directory

but it´s no harm to leave it be. All you write/read to either place ends
up in same place
try:
man ln

and read how it works, q to quit

 ls -al /etc
  drwxr-xr-x   7 root   root     4096 2007-05-20 17:48 spamassassin
cd etc/mail
  ls -al
  lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root   15 2007-04-09 20:24 spamassassin -> ../spamassassin
So which one it's correct? or it's a link?

  Thanks

/etc/mail/spamassassin is just an link to /etc/spamassassin

try ls -al and you see: lwrxrwxrwx instead of drwxrwxrwx
it only exist one in real.
perfectly normal.

Yes. In fact, spamassassin will only use one of those. It will not use both.

Run spamassassin -D --lint and look at what SA is using as a "site
rules" directory. Ditch the other one

the same goes for received headers. if someone sends from his MUA to his
dynamic IP server then to his ISP relay, then you should not reject or
add a score because of the dynamic IP. sbl-xbl is ok.
