I could not reproduce this behaviour, though I did have to do shift-reload in
order to get the image to refresh - regardless of the expires parameter.

For good practice, I've modified the code so that the color and grayscalefilter
are resetted in recycle().

Leaving this open, anyone care to comment why the browser (FF) insists on
caching the image ?
