[jira] [Updated] (FALCON-123) Improve build speeds in falcon

     [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FALCON-123?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]

Srikanth Sundarrajan updated FALCON-123:
----------------------------------------

    Attachment: FALCON-123.patch

Refactored integration tests a bit to use light weight hadoop file system implementation and similarly light weight MR cluster. Also few integration tests identified as smoke tests are in default build, while the rest have been moved in test-patch mode.

test-patch profile should be used for testing patch which includes license checks, exhaustive integration tests, find-bugs and checkstyle checks

Ex:
{code}
export MAVEN_OPTS="-Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m" && mvn clean install -P hadoop-2,test-patch,distributed

export MAVEN_OPTS="-Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m" && mvn clean install
{code}

> Currently default build includes javadocs generation, sources packaging, checkstyle verification & findbugs verification besides whole lots of unit tests and integration tests. It would be good to move some of these to test-patch (verified by hudson) and during nightly builds. It would be ideal to keep the build time to around a minute.
