[Bug 56847] New: Setting variables in runtime enhancement
https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=56847
Bug ID: 56847
Summary: Setting variables in runtime enhancement
Product: JMeter
Version: 2.11
Hardware: PC
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: Main
Assignee: issues@jmeter.apache.org
Reporter: hideemail1@gmail.com
If you want to alter variables in runtime you have to use a script at the
moment, but using scripts comes with the risk of bugs. If there are too many
too extensive scripts in one's test plan bugs are nearly ensured to happen.
Also new users can become confused by user defined variables...
Imagine user a sampler similar to an user defined variables element which
doesn't execute at the beginning but instead where it's placed.
Are there any reasons why such a sampler wouldn't work for or wouldn't fit in
JMeter?

Variables can be altered at run-time using:
http://jmeter.apache.org/usermanual/component_reference.html#User_Parameters
Why is that not suitable?
