I followed all the instructions in this discussion, to no avail. Since 
my update to CouchDB 1.0.1 I'm unable to connect to the server. My 
Ubuntu version is 9.04. What else should I try?

I just found out by running 'utils/run' that my CouchDB is crashing. I posted
the logs in a new thread.
