DO NOT REPLY [Bug 50710] New: Compiling with brackets in folder name

https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=50710

Summary: Compiling with brackets in folder name
           Product: Apache httpd-test
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Keywords: ErrorMessage, FAQ
          Severity: minor
          Priority: P2
         Component: framework
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: hainzy@gmail.com

Not a big issue, and normally people wouldn't come across this.

I downloaded the 2.3 alpha and unzipped it, then decided to use the one with
the dependencies instead. Extracting the new one placed 'httpd-2.3.10 (2)' on
the desktop.

When you're in the folder, ./configure works fine, but make won't. You have to
change the folder name to something else (I used apache2.3) and it works fine
then.

Not the biggest bug in the world, and sorry if it's in the wrong category, but
it's the best I could figure out.
