I still see the same issue as described in TUSCANY-3133 in linux
environment (i couldn't verify in 2.x trunk as there are some other
issues with the 2.x trunk build), but after spending a day or so on
that, it seems to me this might not be a Tuscany specific bug. How
about disabling the itest/distributions/webapps tests for this
milestone release to avoid further delay on this ? This at least
wouldn't cause issues with users trying to build/use the release in
linux environment. Please let me know if you still need help.

Not sure i understand those but i've merged the fix in r790470 to the
M3 branch and so we can test it out i've created a temp tag with that
and respun the release artifacts. These look ok to me, could
you/anyone who saw the build problem in RC3 on linux try with this and
see if its resolved?

Tag is: https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/tuscany/tags/java/sca/2.0-M3-RC3a/

Distro's are at: http://people.apache.org/~antelder/tuscany/2.0-M3-RC3a/

To make it easy to see the changes over Rc3 there's a diff between RC3
and RC3a at: http://people.apache.org/~antelder/tuscany/2.0-M3-RC3a/rc3-rc3a-diff.txt

Could you please provide a JIRA with more details so we can track the
issue, I believe we weren't aware of this.
BTW, patches are welcome :)

There's an issue on your WSDLReader. It simply doesn't work on
IceTea/Java 6 on Ubuntu and its integration test is failing. I don't
know if that's a ongoing stuff..

The issue mentioned by Raymond is TUSCANY-3133, and merging the
changes on the mentioned revisions does not solve the problem. The
BPEL issue is described in TUSCANY-3134, this was masked by the
TUSCANY-3133 issue, and was related to obsolete namespace causing
processor not to read some BPEL related parts.

Is that build problem just the one Raymond mentioned that needs
r790470 merging from trunk to the M3 or a new problem?

I have been working on this, I fixed a BPEL issue but I'm still seeing
one build issue in Linux which I'm trying to fix properly. Once these
issues are fixed I'll create a new RC.

No, the milestone label means a lot more than just an indication on
OASIS compliance

OK, thanks for the offer to help that would be really good as I'm a
bit tied up now and can't test this issue anyway, if you could merge
in the fix you want and rebuild the release artifacts that would be
wonderful.

Reboot this morning sorted my RMI problem out so something was holding
a port open. No other problems found on Windows.I prefer that we fix
the Linux problem before releasing.

I thought the "milestone" label here was more towards OASIS
compliance, rather then quality, and also this is an issue reported on
the previous RC... so I'd like to see this fixed.

BTW, after a review of this RC, below are the issues I have found :

- Several SNAPSHOT dependencies on iTests modules (check with grep -r
--include=*.xml SNAPSHOT * )
- Build failure from clean maven repo as reported by Raymond

I'm -1 until we fix the build issue. Let me know if you need any help.

Hi,

I couldn't get a clean build for the tagged 2.0 M3 RC3 on Linux. Here are
the failing test cases:

[INFO] Error for project: Apache Tuscany SCA iTest Distribution Webapp
helloworld-bpel (during install)
[INFO] Error for project: Apache Tuscany SCA iTest Distribution Webapp
helloworld-jsp (during install)
[INFO] Error for project: Apache Tuscany SCA iTest Distribution Webapp
helloworld-stripes (during install)

By looking at the logs, it seems that it hits the problem I have fixed in
trunk. See:
http://osdir.com/ml/dev-tuscany.apache.org/2009-07/msg00030.html.

Other than that, the binary distribution looks good. I can successfully run
the distributed OSGi samples with tuscany.war and the modules.

Thanks,
Raymond
