Re: .svn on the web? Risk
Hi admins,
Is there something wrong with the list? Someone wants to join, but can't :
--- snip ---
Hi, could you tell me how on earth to join the subversion mailling list?
According to http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectMailingListList
, I wrote an E-mail to users-subscribe@subversion.tigris.org , but no
response for the subscription confirmation from that mailing list server.
Can you help me with this?
I've tried to write to that E-mail address with two source addresses, one
is chjfth@hotmail.com and the other is my comany's mail address, but
neither got response.
Thank you.
--- snip ---
Can someone please look into ti?
Br,
---

Yes, but you shouldn't do that either. Doing that still links the new
message with the old one, through the In-Reply-To header. If your
message is not in reply to that other one, you should not reply to
it; you should use your email client's New Message command.

My bad :) I apologize for any confusion. I used an old e-mail for the
address, and neglected to modify the Subject because I was in a hurry.

It would be better not to reply to some random message on the list
when your message is not related to that one. Instead, create a new
message with a new subject.
I just tried the users-subscribe@subversion.tigris.org address. It
works fine. Ensure that your spam filter is permissive enough to
allow you to see the reply that will arrive within minutes from users-
help@subversion.tigris.org.
