[Issue 126023] New: Backgroud colours of frame styles inconsistent between AOO 4.1.1 and AOO 4.2

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126023

          Issue ID: 126023
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Backgroud colours of frame styles inconsistent between
                    AOO 4.1.1 and AOO 4.2
           Product: Writer
           Version: 4.2.0-dev
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P1
         Component: formatting
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: thorsten.wagner.4@gmail.com

Sample document

In a mixed environment with OpenOffice and LibreOffice exists an
incompatibility concerning background colours of frames:

(1) Opening/saving a document created with OpenOffice using LibreOffice causes
background colours of all frame styles to change from "No fill" to "Blue
classic". The attached sample document is created using OpenOffice and saved
using LibreOffice.

(2) Opening sample document with AOO 4.1.1 is bo problem (see screenshot 1).
Background colours of all frames are treated as "No fill" correctly.

(3) Opening sample document with AOO 4.2 causes background colors of all frame
sytles to be treated as "Blue classic" (see screenshot 2).

As the handling of background colours has changed between AOO 4.1.1 and AOO 4.2
(see attached screenshots), I'm not sure wheter this is an incompatibility
between OpenOffice and LibreOffice or between AOO 4.1.1 and AOO 4.2.

Steps to reproduce:

(1) Open attached sample document with AOO 4.1.1 (see screenshot 1)

(2) Open attached sample document with AOO 4.2 (see screenshot 2)

The behaviour described is very annoying because data integrity is affected by
using different releases of OpenOffice or by using OpenOffice and LibreOffice.

You don't need an instance of an affected frame style. The problem can be
validated by showing the properties of a frame style itself using AOO 4.1.1 and
AOO 4.2 (see screenshots). If AOO 4.1.1 shows "No fill" AOO 4.2 should show
"None". Actually AOO 4.2 shows "Color / Blue classic".

The document has been saved using LibreOffice 4.3.5.

I'will try to create an additional sample document with a frame instance.

I do not understand your report, because I do not find where there is a "frame"
in the sample document. Please change the sample document, that it only
contains one frame which shows the problem, and make the document as short as
possible.

The change in the dialog is intended. The goal is to unify the fill properties
of all objects. Therefore a frame in Writer has got the ability to have not
only color and bitmap background but hatching and gradient too.

Which version of LibreOffice do you have used? You might have been run into
