How to install and Apache Hive 3.1.2?

Hi,

I would like to start Apache Hive 3.1.2 and try it out.

Unfortunately The Getting Started guide [1] seems to be very old and 
outdated. If I understood well hive.execution.engine part is changed 
with Hive 3 and Tez sessions are required to use Hive (???)

Can you please help me to understand how Hive can be used / started?

(Feel free to send RTFM link, if the documentation is available somewhere).
