In breaking away from the Maven Documentation thread...

What is the 'release' cycle of maven site to maven itself? Is the site's
update tied to Maven releases?

The site was just deployed moments ago - its completely independent.
There is some reference documentation - that is deployed with Maven
releases.

Plugin documentation is generally considered reference (because the
rest of it is so sparse), so gets done at release.

Generally - the source files of the site are released at the same time
as the code in the same trnuk. The Maven site is in its own trunk so
it can be separate.
