[jira] [Created] (RAVE-792) Make login name case-insensitive

Matthias Niederhausen created RAVE-792:
------------------------------------------

             Summary: Make login name case-insensitive
                 Key: RAVE-792
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RAVE-792
             Project: Rave
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: rave-portal
    Affects Versions: 0.15
         Environment: iPad 3, Safari
            Reporter: Matthias Niederhausen
            Priority: Trivial

As an iPad user, my username is entered with a capital letter first automatically. Rave then rejects my credentials.
As a solution, I propose to make usernames non-case-sensitive, which I perceived as standard for the Web.

Alternatively, you could disable the auto-capitalization for iPad users by modifying the login form a tiny bit:

Jasha Joachimsthal commented on RAVE-792:
-----------------------------------------

Please solve this in the HTML, not by making credentials case insensitive.
autocapitalize="off" and autocorrect="off" solve your issues on iOS devices

Chris Geer commented on RAVE-792:
---------------------------------

I would vote for the alternative. I to hate this problem on the iDevices however it's not limited to Rave.
