Issue with log file on Ubuntu

Hi all,

I have standard CouchDB 1.6.1 installation on Ubuntu 16.
Recently I started building a script to monitor its state and when using
'service couchdb status', I noticed the following:
Warning: Journal has been rotated since unit was started. Log output is
incomplete or unavailable.

Checking /var/log/couchdb I see only these two files:
-rw-r--r--  1 couchdb couchdb     0 Oct  9 06:25 couch.log
-rw-r--r--  1 couchdb couchdb  1185 Oct  9 06:25 couch.log.1

Nothing with recent date.

logrotate.conf has nothing specific for CouchDB.
I didn't change any settings, related to logging.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

P.S. After restarting the service new log file was created with today's
date.
