[jira] Created: (MPPMD-28) exclude files

exclude files
-------------

                 Key: MPPMD-28
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MPPMD-28
             Project: maven-pmd-plugin
          Issue Type: Wish
            Reporter: Jesper Zedlitz

It would be nice if you could exclude files (generated source code) from the PMD report.
The Cobertura plugin for examples has a configuration element
<excludes>
    <exclude>org/example/generated/**/*.class</exclude>
</excludes>

[jira] Commented: (MPPMD-28) exclude files

Jesper Zedlitz commented on MPPMD-28:
-------------------------------------

It it just a documentation problem.
It is possible to exclude files from the PMD report:
<plugin>
  <artifactId>maven-pmd-plugin</artifactId>
  <version>2.1</version>
  <configuration>
    <excludes>
      <exclude>**/org/example/generator**</exclude>
    </excludes>
  </configuration>
</plugin>

The two asterixes at the beginning of the path are important!

This tracker is for the Maven 1 pmd plugin.If you meant to file this for the m2 plugin, please go to http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MPMD. In m1, you have to use the maven.pmd.excludes property to exclude certain files, see http://maven.apache.org/maven-1.x/plugins/pmd/faq.html#disable-select-files.
