For psql thing, you could check bulkload via psql from here : http://phoenix.apache.org/bulk_dataload.html#Loading via PSQL

We succesfully used Kettle with Phoenix.  Just putting the client in the
lib directory works for some versions.  You may have conflicts with Guava
depending on what version you used.  You can create a libext and add that
to the classpath in spoon/kitchen.
