[jira] Commented: (STR-1309) [taglib] tag appending
session doesn't work with apache setup

Paul Benedict commented on STR-1309:
------------------------------------
I agree with Craig that Struts should not be "fixed" to workaround bad Apache configurations. However, if someone can demonstrate other modern frameworks have the same solution -- the ability to remove the session identifier -- then we can do the same. Otherwise, if nothing can be demonstrated, this issue should be marked as WONTFIX.

> When the html:img tag appends jsessionid to the page url, the image is not
> processes properly by apache.
> If a particular setup includes having tomcat load all .jsp and .do pages, and
> having apache load the images and other files, apache will throw an error when
> it receives an image like:
> In the error_log, apache sais it cannot find
> image /path/to/webapp/images/image.gif;jsessionid=whatever.
> The struts html:img tag should provide a way to specify NOT to include the
> jsessionid, and probably shouldn't include the jsessionid by default
