error http 500 while uploading files

Hello!

I installed OM 3.0.0 on a Ubuntu 12.04 server: everything works fine, but
as I try to upload whatever file to a board during a meeting, I just get a
box that reports an "http 500 error".
I'm sure that the conversion software is properly installed and OM is set
to point at the right paths.
What should I check?
Reading the files

*/usr/lib/red5/log/openmeetings.log/var/log/red5/openmeetings.log *
doesn't help, since no new entries were added...

Cheers!

Posted by Giovanni <gi...@gmail.com>.
We did it guys!
I set the ownership to nobody and permission 774 to the hole red5 folder,
now it works!
Thank you!

Re: error http 500 while uploading files

Posted by Giovanni <gi...@gmail.com>.
Don't worry, until now I'm working on a pc in LAN that I use as playground,
before doing the same changes on the actual remote server.
I noticed that 770 works as well, but it doesn't convince me leaving the
ownership to nobody.
Which user should be owning the folder? What group should have rwx
privileges? root? www-data? Tomorrow I'm gonna try again.
thank you Alvaro!

Re: error http 500 while uploading files

Posted by Alvaro <zu...@gmail.com>.
Giovanni, 777 is not the solution, would be security
problems, but is a hope to see that works!

About LibreOffice be sure every path is right in

Administration --> Configuration

* path to jod converter
* path to LibreOffice...exemple /usr/lib/lireoffice

:)

...after nobody user...do you restart red5?

Try give permissions: 775 or 777 to prove
and if is nothing, return to the normal permissions.

If make an upgrade do it with OM 3.0.1:

203.0.x/

I had OM 2.2 before, and it worked flawlessly...I don't know what's wrong
with this!
I updated because the administrator might be doing some configuration from
an IPad, and OM has just the rooms running on flash.
Reading other mails, it seems that this happens when OM can't find/access
the folder in which the conversion from test/office/photo to "jpeg for the
board" are temporarily stored, but nobody made clear which is it in
OM3.0.0....

Hi Giovanni,

Do you made: chown -R nobody /your_path_OM_installation/

For me it was the solution.

  Betreff: error http 500 while uploading files

  /usr/lib/red5/log/openmeetings.log
  /var/log/red5/openmeetings.log

  doesn't help, since no new entries were added...

  Cheers!
