RE: C2B2 - ComponentSelector could not find the component for hin t: xslt

Matthew,

Do you still have this problem? The solution Leo gave didn't work for me,
but i have an older version of C2 (early C2b1 release) and i want to know if
it works with a newer version.

It is probably an Avalon problem, but i don't know Avalon well enough to
solve it.

Hope you had a great holiday :-). No - this was really a bug and Carsten
fixed it (I managed to get him back to work on a Sunday to do so :-)). We
have a customer who uses sub-sitemaps a lot - so this was a show-stopper.

the one from the parent sitemap? Try defining the TraxTransformer in the
sub-sitemap as well to see if the behaviour is the same as before. IIRC
this issue has been raised a few weeks ago and it might have to do with

After comparing the logs I can now add a little to that:

When the pipeline is in the subsitemap components such as the
TraxTransformer are _retrieved_ from the pool - but they are not returned!
This is the case if the pipeline is in the "normal" sitemap.

I think I have found a bug in the sub-sitemap handling. Unfortunately (for
me anyway) Carsten is on holiday - so maybe someone else has an idea..

I have tested memory consumption using Jprobe. From the results it seems
that pipelines in sub-sitemaps are not released from memory. This means that
after a request has been processed all the components (!) are still held in
memory. This means that repetitive requests cause the memory to fill up.

I tested the same pipeline in the normal sitemap and everything was fine.

Can someone confirm this - and maybe offer a solution (apart from not having
sub-sitemaps)?

AW: C2B2 - ComponentSelector could not find the component for hin t: xslt

Posted by Matthew Langham <ml...@sundn.de>.
Yep. We still have the same problem. Perhaps someone from the avalon side
can help. I am forwarding this to the avalon list.

The Exception (a more complete one is at the bottom of this mail) occurs
when running the current Cocoon 2 Beta under load. Adjusting the pool-min
and pool-max parameters for the TraxTransformer does not help.

Any ideas? What can we do to track down the cause?

AW: C2B2 - ComponentSelector could not find the component for hin t: xslt

Posted by Matthew Langham <ml...@sundn.de>.
Yep. We still have the same problem. Perhaps someone from the avalon side
can help. I am forwarding this to the avalon list.

The Exception (a more complete one is at the bottom of this mail) occurs
when running the current Cocoon 2 Beta under load. Adjusting the pool-min
and pool-max parameters for the TraxTransformer does not help.

Any ideas? What can we do to track down the cause?

Matthew

Matthew,

Do you still have this problem? The solution Leo gave didn't work for me,
but i have an older version of C2 (early C2b1 release) and i want to know if
it works with a newer version.

It is probably an Avalon problem, but i don't know Avalon well enough to
solve it.
