The JDBM database for an indexed attribute grows each time an attribute of that type is replaced.
This was a bug in JDBM that has not made its way to our JDBM branch yet. The fix is: http://jdbm.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/jdbm/jdbm/src/main/jdbm/btree/BTree.java?r1=1.17&r2=1.18
