[jira] [Created] (RANGER-2338) Ranger Internal Groups doesn't solve any problem, its an Alias

Ankesh created RANGER-2338:
------------------------------

Summary: Ranger Internal Groups doesn't solve any problem, its an Alias
                 Key: RANGER-2338
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RANGER-2338
             Project: Ranger
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: usersync
            Reporter: Ankesh

As I understand, the default 'user/group mapping service' will always check groups on OS layer. Is that right ?

what is the point of creating users in Ranger, if we always need to create them on the OS layer, and assign groups on OS layer too.
