Here's a patch that re-implements the previous simple scheme for supporting Vector accessing via a user-settable Map of index bindings. In this patch, the map itself is not serialized with the vector. In preparation for changing the serialization to use Json I moved the JsonVectorAdapter from Dirichlet (where it was not actually used).

This implementation could be generalized by making the map hold a richer record containing other properties of the index.
