Date Boost implementation

Looking through the documentation, I'm wondering if there is any
mechanism in Lucene to suplement the score with a date boost.  I.e., can
I increase the score of more recent documents?  Any ideas on how to do
this or whether there is a mechanism already in place for date boosts?
