viewing pdf under SSL

Hi,

has anyone experienced problems when viewing a pdf generated
in a servlet when using https for transport? it does work
with http but not with https? any reasons for that behavior?
application/pdf is defined in web.xml.
We are using apache 1.3.20 + mod_ssl 2.8.4 under solaris 8
with mod_jk (ajp13).
