"tools tip" still floating on the screen

Greenes,

Apologies, this is an issue with OpenMeetings in general, not an issue with your "ISO LIVE DVD OpenMeetings 2.0 on Ubuntu 12.04". By the way, thanks for creating this ISO.

To create a new email and report the issue I that I was experiencing, I had clicked on your email and selected "Reply" to get the email address "openmeetings-user@incubator.apache.org", and then forgot to clear the subject line. It was my mistake.

And thank you for the comment about "the first time you get out of a room", I did a new installation, and retested,
a) with the Administrator account and it was not the first time I had logged in with this account, but it was the second and third times that it happened, and then it would not happened again under this user account.
b) Using your suggestion I tried another account, and like you said, it only occurred the first time and at first I was unable to get it to happen again. But then I persisted, and keep trying. It then happened several times again, and at time with different "tools tips" messages, of the type of tool tips that appear for the Whiteboard user control icons.

I am unable to determine a way for this issue to be repeatable, but I know that it happens, just I have been unable to identify just what sequence of actions can trigger it.

Since at first it seems like it would only happen "the first time you get out of a room", I cleared the browser cache, but then it would not happen the next time I logged in. However much repeated testing did cause it to happen several more times over about 40 tests. The issue is very random to produce.

I have no idea how any developer could find and fix such a random happening. Please if anyone can determine why this is happening and how to reproduce it on demand, please let us all know.

Thanks,

George Kirkham

Hi George,

In my case this happens when get out
of Conference Room the first time only, the following times not appears, anyway moving the mouse over disappears, without clic.
So i think the code is right.

The OpenMeetings version i have used
to build the iso is:

OpenMeetings 2.0 date build 1-5-2012.

Re: "tools tip" still floating on the screen

Posted by "seba.wagner@gmail.com" <se...@gmail.com>.
I am able to reproduce that issue.
It is a bit more effort that has to happen here.
Lets have a look at how a tooltip works:
Each tooltip registers two Listener to its holding view: onmouseover
(tooltip created) onmouseout (tooltip removed)
The issue is that the "onmouseout" of a view sometimes is not called (but
onmouseover is)
This can happen if you for example:
- Destroy the parent view of a view that currently has a tooltip active
- Create a new instance of an object that is on top of the current UI
element that did throw the onmouseover element.

A possible way to resolve the issue would be:
Add to all occurrence of issues with missing "onmouseout" events a method
to clear all tooltips globally.
The problem: There is no generic solution for this. You need to really find
all places where an onmouseout event might be missing and then add the
method to clear tooltips globally at appropriate locations.

You could open a Jira task for it and documentate the places that you have
found so far.

Thanks,
Sebastian

Stephen,

Greenes said that he saw the issue, but it is not a show stopper like he said, “Even i dont gave attention to this issue two days ago because passing the mouse over would disappear”.

You can easily ignore it, just that it does not look professional, so if I can somehow identify how to createit, I will report back more info.

Thanks,

Maybe it is with on specific tool, but so far I have not been able to identify a specific tool that causes this.

Thanks,

George Kirkham

Sebastian,

Thanks, I have downloaded revision 1338946, and I can now download the
original file (with the original file name), and the PDF. Tested in

I am still running OM 1.9, so not sure if this is helpful. This function
is working properly for me (not getting the deleted.jpg), but I do get
the funny files names when the file is downloaded.

Hi,

Please try this and let me know if you too have this issue or not.

When you select (double click) an uploaded document to display it to the
Whiteboard, there are two options "Download original document" and
"Download PDF document".

The "Download original document" gives the file name like
f6362a94fd54...pdf (it was a PDF file that was uploaded). Why the
strange file name when downloading the document? The original file name
is still in the database because the original file name is what is used
to identify the file to the user in the "Room files (public drive)"
area, so why does the file not get saved with the correct file name?

Selecting the "Download PDF document", downloads a file called
"deleted.jpg", instead of a the PDF file. The file "deleted.jpg" is a
jpeg file containing an image of the text "Image deleted". Does this
happen for others or is it just my builds that have this issue?

I can upload documents and they are converted OK, so I assume the paths
in my configuration settings are correct.

Thanks,

Hey George,

I too get the random generated file name when choosing to download the
original, if you check the logs they are created with this name on
upload and used with the SWTOOL's - If I choose the Download PDF
Document, I also get the deleted.jpg file.

Cheers

RE: Two possilbe bugs: Saving an uploaded file from the Public files store

Posted by Stephen Cottham <St...@robertbird.com.au>.
Hey George,

I too get the random generated file name when choosing to download the original, if you check the logs they are created with this name on upload and used with the SWTOOL’s – If I choose the Download PDF Document, I also get the deleted.jpg file.

Cheers

Hi,

Please try this and let me know if you too have this issue or not.

When you select (double click) an uploaded document to display it to the Whiteboard, there are two options “Download original document” and “Download PDF document”.

The “Download original document” gives the file name like f6362a94fd54…pdf (it was a PDF file that was uploaded). Why the strange file name when downloading the document? The original file name is still in the database because the original file name is what is used to identify the file to the user in the “Room files (public drive)” area, so why does the file not get saved with the correct file name?

Selecting the “Download PDF document”, downloads a file called “deleted.jpg”, instead of a the PDF file. The file “deleted.jpg” is a jpeg file containing an image of the text “Image deleted”. Does this happen for others or is it just my builds that have this issue?

I can upload documents and they are converted OK, so I assume the paths in my configuration settings are correct.

Thanks,

George Kirkham

That is no really issue then :)
You just need to goto the Administration > Configuration and adjust a higher value for the max_upload_size variable.

Sebastian,

1) Tomorrow when I have more time I will see if I can capture the error logs. Below is what I found from today’s log file.

2012-05-13 16:45:49,461 [http-0.0.0.0-5080-5] ERROR o.a.c.c.C.[.[.0.0.0.[.[spring-mvc] - Servlet.service() for servlet spring-mvc threw exception

       at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) ~[na:1.6.0_26]

2) I am not familiar with the “the CLI command”, and will follow the instructions from the Upgrade page.

3) You need OpenMeetings 2.x or later to have the command line interface (CLI) feature available

4) Alternatively to the Web-Installer you can also export and import via the command line.
You should shutdown the Red5-Service while doing CLI export or import operations
Cd to your red5-home directory, type "admin" and hit enter. You will get options available.

A typical export would be:
admin -b -file backup_today.zip

A typical import would be:
admin -r -file backup_yesterday.zip

You can also combine the installation with a backup, that way you will create exactly the user table that existed in the backup.
A typical install from backup would be:
admin -i -file backup_yesterday.zip

Thanks,

George Kirkham

Hi George,

please share your log files for the error 500. I am pretty sure there must be some kind of exception.

yes this was the intend for the checkbox.
In theory you can copy the folders:
webapps/openmeetings/streams/
webapps/openmeetings/upload/

However when doing that you should use the CLI command to install and import the backup so that the user Ids are the same.

Hi,

When performing a system backup with “Include uploaded files and recordings in backup”, and then doing a System restore, the restore fails with a “HTTP-ERROR:500”, with I believe is because the backup file (backup_13_05_2012_16_05_04.zip) is now 1.2 GB in size.

Is it possible to do a system backup/restore without the option to “Include uploaded files and recordings in backup”, and then just copy a specific folder or two back in, for example;

After doing a compile after checking out the svn code for singlewebapp…

#mv /usr/lib/red5/usr/lib/red5.001

# mv dist/red5 /usr/lib/red5/

# cp -R /usr/lib/red5.001/webapps/openmeetings/upload/files /usr/lib/red5/webapps/openmeetings/upload/

# cp -R /usr/lib/red5.001/webapps/openmeetings/upload/profiles /usr/lib/red5/webapps/openmeetings/upload/

Re: System Import HTTP-ERROR:500 - Could not find key in configuration CONF_KEY: DEFAULT_MAX_UPLOAD_SIZE

Posted by Maxim Solodovnik <so...@gmail.com>.
Hello George,

the configuration should be "max_upload_size"
I'll double check.

Sebastian,

There might be a bug. When I had more time to check the log files I
found the message "Could not find key in configuration CONF_KEY:

setting for "max_upload_size", but not for "DEFAULT_MAX_UPLOAD_SIZE"

Sebastian,

1) Tomorrow when I have more time I will see if I can capture the
error logs. Below is what I found from today's log file.

2012-05-13 16:45:49,461 [http-0.0.0.0-5080-5] ERROR

2) I am not familiar with the "the CLI command", and will follow
the instructions from the Upgrade page.

3) You need OpenMeetings 2.x or later to have the command line
interface (CLI) feature available

4) Alternatively to the Web-Installer you can also export and
import via the command line.
You should shutdown the Red5-Service while doing CLI export or import
operations
Cd to your red5-home directory, type "admin" and hit enter. You will get
options available.

A typical export would be:
admin -b -file backup_today.zip

A typical import would be:
admin -r -file backup_yesterday.zip

You can also combine the installation with a backup, that way you will
create exactly the user table that existed in the backup.
A typical install from backup would be:
admin -i -file backup_yesterday.zip

Thanks,

George Kirkham

Hi George,

please share your log files for the error 500. I am pretty sure there
must be some kind of exception.

yes this was the intend for the checkbox.
In theory you can copy the folders:
webapps/openmeetings/streams/
webapps/openmeetings/upload/

However when doing that you should use the CLI command to install and
import the backup so that the user Ids are the same.

Hi,

When performing a system backup with "Include uploaded files and
recordings in backup", and then doing a System restore, the restore
fails with a "HTTP-ERROR:500", with I believe is because the backup file
(backup_13_05_2012_16_05_04.zip) is now 1.2 GB in size.

Is it possible to do a system backup/restore without the option to
"Include uploaded files and recordings in backup", and then just copy a
specific folder or two back in, for example;

After doing a compile after checking out the svn code for
singlewebapp...

#mv /usr/lib/red5/usr/lib/red5.001

# mv dist/red5 /usr/lib/red5/

# cp -R /usr/lib/red5.001/webapps/openmeetings/upload/files
/usr/lib/red5/webapps/openmeetings/upload/

# cp -R /usr/lib/red5.001/webapps/openmeetings/upload/profiles
/usr/lib/red5/webapps/openmeetings/upload/

Thanks,

George Kirkham

RE: System Import HTTP-ERROR:500

Posted by George Kirkham <gk...@co2crc.com.au>.
Sebastian,

1) Tomorrow when I have more time I will see if I can capture the
error logs. Below is what I found from today's log file.

2012-05-13 16:45:49,461 [http-0.0.0.0-5080-5] ERROR
o.a.c.c.C.[.[.0.0.0.[.[spring-mvc] - Servlet.service() for servlet

2) I am not familiar with the "the CLI command", and will follow
the instructions from the Upgrade page.

3) You need OpenMeetings 2.x or later to have the command line
interface (CLI) feature available

4) Alternatively to the Web-Installer you can also export and
import via the command line.

Is it possible to do a system backup/restore without the option to
"Include uploaded files and recordings in backup", and then just copy a
specific folder or two back in, for example;

After doing a compile after checking out the svn code for
singlewebapp...

#mv /usr/lib/red5/usr/lib/red5.001

# mv dist/red5 /usr/lib/red5/

# cp -R /usr/lib/red5.001/webapps/openmeetings/upload/files
/usr/lib/red5/webapps/openmeetings/upload/

# cp -R /usr/lib/red5.001/webapps/openmeetings/upload/profiles
/usr/lib/red5/webapps/openmeetings/upload/

Thanks,

George Kirkham

System Import HTTP-ERROR:500

Thanks,

RE: "tools tip" still floating on the screen

Posted by George Kirkham <gk...@co2crc.com.au>.
The attached image is the kind of thing that I am referring to, in the image I have exited the room but a room tool tip still floats on the screen. This remains on the screen even if I log out. I believe it has to do with the events for the tool tips, if I move back and across the tools a few times, and allow the tool tips to change, then this issue with sometimes happen. Maybe it is with on specific tool, but so far I have not been able to identify a specific tool that causes this.

Thanks,

George Kirkham
