"maven new4" in 1.1 leaves loads of /tmp/packageNNNNN.tmpdir directories behind

After a few days of development, these (and other Geronimo temp) directories were consuming 2.4 GB.  This is with the server shut down, so it's not like they were just going to be deleted later.  We should clean up after ourselves better.
