Empty array is not persisted correctly. It is stored as
someProperty=

At runtime it is then null. If the configuration is updated to empty array again, it is OK just until the framework (or config admin) is restarted.

This looks like a duplicate to your own report FELIX-3046 which has been fixed in trunk.
