[GitHub] [sling-org-apache-sling-xss] dependabot[bot] opened a new pull request, #20: Bump esapi from 2.2.3.0 to 2.3.0.0

dependabot[bot] opened a new pull request, #20:
URL: https://github.com/apache/sling-org-apache-sling-xss/pull/20

   Bumps [esapi](https://github.com/ESAPI/esapi-java-legacy) from 2.2.3.0 to 2.3.0.0.
   <details>
   <summary>Release notes</summary>
   <p><em>Sourced from <a href="https://github.com/ESAPI/esapi-java-legacy/releases">esapi's releases</a>.</em></p>
   <blockquote>
   <h2>2.3.0.0</h2>
   <p>Release notes for ESAPI release 2.3.0.0 are located at:
   <a href="https://github.com/ESAPI/esapi-java-legacy/blob/develop/documentation/esapi4java-core-2.3.0.0-release-notes.txt">https://github.com/ESAPI/esapi-java-legacy/blob/develop/documentation/esapi4java-core-2.3.0.0-release-notes.txt</a></p>
   <p><strong>IMPORTANT</strong>: Because this release of ESAPI fixes several vulnerabilities, it is <em>extremely important</em> that you actually read the release notes. Failure to do so likely will cause previous ESAPI users to miss some critical remediation steps!</p>
   <p>Finally, note that the file &quot;<strong>esapi-2.3.0.0-configuration.jar</strong>&quot; (see below) contains the default ESAPI configuration files under 'configuration/' (ESAPI.properties, validation.properties, etc.) and the file &quot;esapi-2.3.0.0-configuration.jar.asc&quot; is a GPG signature of that jar file made by 'Kevin W. Wall (GitHub signing key) <a href="mailto:kevin.w.wall@gmail.com">kevin.w.wall@gmail.com</a>'.</p>
   <h2>2.2.3.1</h2>
   <p>Release notes for ESAPI release 2.x.y.z are located at:
           <a href="https://github.com/ESAPI/esapi-java-legacy/blob/develop/documentation/esapi4java-core-2.2.3.1-release-notes.txt">https://github.com/ESAPI/esapi-java-legacy/blob/develop/documentation/esapi4java-core-2.2.3.1-release-notes.txt</a>
   This was a very minor point release.</p>
   <p>Note the file &quot;esapi-2.2.3.1-configuration.jar&quot; contains the default ESAPI configuration files under 'configuration/' (ESAPI.properties, validation.properties, etc.) and the file &quot;esapi-2.2.3.1-configuration.jar.asc&quot; is a GPG signature of that jar file made by Kevin W. Wall.</p>
   <p>See also Security Bulletin 5 (<a href="https://github.com/ESAPI/esapi-java-legacy/blob/develop/documentation/ESAPI-security-bulletin5.pdf">https://github.com/ESAPI/esapi-java-legacy/blob/develop/documentation/ESAPI-security-bulletin5.pdf</a>) for a description of why CVE-2021-29425 is NOT exploitable via ESAPI.</p>

   Good question @billdinger . The [ASF release policy](https://www.apache.org/legal/release-policy.html) states that

   > Release votes SHOULD remain open for at least 72 hours.

   We follow this recommendation for almost all of our releases, except for very time-sensitive fixes. The release vote is now concluded [1] and the 2.3.6 version is available on Maven central [2].

   Thanks for merging this in @rombert helps clear up a security scanner failure much appreciate +1! I see it got tagged for release as 2.3.6 and, pardon my ignorance on how the release schedule works for these, but not seeing it in the Apache / Maven central repositories yet. Is there another step or schedule for when it'll be pushed up there?
