Re: Help for users@openoffice.apache.org

Posted by Rochelle <rh...@gmail.com>.
Hi Andrea,
Actually I mistakenly sent the same message to "
users-return-@openoffice.apache.org", realized my error and re-sent the
message to "users@openoffice.apache.org"

It may not be an important issue for the group, but I'd still like to know
why I am getting the message from "users-return". I rarely post to the
group but enjoy reading and learning about issues. According to
"users-return" I am not receiving all the messages, is that correct? Is
every message that is posted to the support group being monitored for
receipt by every member?

btw, I've checked my spam folders and have not found any
users@openoffice.apache.org emails inadvertently sent there. Why would some
messages not be received when others are?

"Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
users@openoffice.apache.org mailing list.

I'm working for my owner, who can be reached
at users-owner@openoffice.apache.org.

This is a generic help message. The message I received wasn't sent to
any of my command addresses."

It seems you sent a mail to users-help@openoffice.apache.org (note the
-help suffix). The -help address gives you that output (i.e., it sends
back to you a mail with instructions; and nothing is delivered to the
list). If you want to write to the list, use users@ as you just did.

   Andrea.

Me too.

My second one came in on 24 May.

I notice the others were dated 25 May.
\
This is the second message I received.

*"Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
users@openoffice.apache.org <us...@openoffice.apache.org> mailing list. I'm
working for my owner, who can be reached at
users-owner@openoffice.apache.org <us...@openoffice.apache.org>.
Messages to you from the users mailing list seem to have been bouncing.
I've attached a copy of the first bounce message I received. If this
message bounces too, I will send you a probe. If the probe bounces, I will
remove your address from the users mailing list, without further notice.
I've kept a list of which messages from the users mailing list have bounced
from your address. Copies of these messages may be in the archive. To
retrieve a set of messages 123-145 (a maximum of 100 per request), send a
short message to: <users-get.123_145@openoffice.apache.org
<us...@openoffice.apache.org>> To receive a subject and author
list for the last 100 or so messages, send a short message to:
 <users-index@openoffice.apache.org <us...@openoffice.apache.org>>
Here are the message numbers: 7572 7617 7644 7723 7735 ---
Enclosed is a copy of the bounce message I received. Return-Path: <>
Received: (qmail 98155 invoked for bounce); 14 May 2014 21:30:57 -0000
Date: 14 May 2014 21:30:57 -0000 From: MAILER-DAEMON@apache.org
<MA...@apache.org> To: users-return-7572-@openoffice.apache.org
<us...@openoffice.apache.org> Subject: failure notice*

The message received on 24 May was the second I received. The first was
about 4 weeks earlier. Unfortunately, I did not save the first such
message, just deleted it after I determined that my E mail addy was
working fine and that nothing appeared to have bounced.

Very odd.
