"retrieve" deletes directory?

Hi.

I noticed that when setting the attribute "sync" to "true", the
<ivy:retrieve> "ant" target will delete the output directory if there are no
dependencies. Is it intended behaviour? [It fairly annoying because the
build fails afterwards when some other task tries to access that directory.]
