[Sanselan] question about writing metadata to TIFF output

I am trying to figure out how to write metadata to TIFF files. I've been going over the Sanselan documentation and can't quite find what I need. I've also attempted a couple of web searches, but have struck out. Does anyone have any code snippets or examples on how to do this? Can anyone point me to examples on the web?

In particular, I am trying to write tags for GeoTIFF style files. Some of these are given as arrays of doubles, some are simple integral values, some are strings. I'm having trouble figuring out how the TiffInfo, TiffField, etc. tags are concatenated together to create a specification. Also, I'm a bit vague on how does one set up a dictionary and how that interacts with the tags.

I've already used Sanselan for reading TIFF files and, just in case anyone's wondering, it works like a champ. My only difficulty is that some of the documentation is a bit sketchy. If I ever master the API to a sufficient degree, I think I might try fleshing out the javadoc a bit and submitting it to the project.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Gary
