   @kaxil -> implemented most of it. I again proposed to make project_id optional as separate change (we have some other operators in spanner to make them optional as well for consitency). Having separate change with only this would be much more efficient for changing and testing (then we can run our automated System tests on all environments at once for all operators after such global change.
