state of XUL menu support?

hi everyone!

what is the state of XUL menu rendering for lenya 1.4? is anyone using it?
if not, we should get rid of all XUL-related code for 1.4.1.

even if it is functional atm, i really don't see why we should implement
browser-exclusive user interfaces in core code and our default
publication if the same can be accomplished in an interoperable way.

comments welcome,

jörn

I don't consider XUL as a browser-exclusive technology, but rather as a
step into the right direction for the future, but I guess there is no
point about argueing being too early ...

I think it would be great if you can accomplish some CSS/Javascript
solution which allows submenus and all the related stuff which is
compatible with all major browsers.

But still as Thorsten was mentioning, it still makes sense to replace
the lenya specific menu XML by XUL instead reinvent the wheel.

Cheers

Better move it to a module. I can remember I used it once and I found
the idea appealing.

I would like to see it in a module if possible since incorporating it
directly in the browser rocks (I obviously do not use IE). I can
remember that the idea was XUL (and if not XUL support, transformed to
the normal menu).
