So, IMHO time has come to restart this thread :-)

Since code speaks more than a million words, I decided to make a project out
of it, to promote Ant, Cocoon and Apache guidelines for software
distribution.

The project is at krysalis.org.

You can find the proposal I made for Cocoon in the krysalis-centipede
project, that is a sort of reference template out of which developers can
make distributions. It is based on the Cocoon build system, with some minor
modifications taken from Avalon, and the proposal made on this list.
A sort of distribution distribution ;-)

I will continue the discussion on the forrest list, where IMHO it's more
appropriate.
The patch in bugzilla remains, because it just fixes some bugs in the
current layout.

BTW, the link doesn't point to a file with a proposal but to the sample
distribution itself.
