[jira] Created: (CASSANDRA-534) MessageService.stream() fails for
zero-length files
MessageService.stream() fails for zero-length files
---------------------------------------------------
Key: CASSANDRA-534
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-534
Project: Cassandra
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 0.3, 0.4, 0.5
Reporter: Stu Hood
Priority: Trivial
When sending a zero-length file using MessageService.stream, the StreamContextManager.IStreamComplete handler for the stream will never be called.
This was triggered in testing by attempting to bootstrap with an empty SSTable, and is possible (if extremely unlikely) in production.

Jonathan Ellis resolved CASSANDRA-534.
--------------------------------------
Resolution: Invalid
there's a lot of code that assumes sstable files will not be empty, so let's continue to prevent their creation (e.g. CASSANDRA-532) rather than fixing the symptoms one at a time.
