single objects", and my testing shows that this works perfectly.

 

One day I was demonstrating OpenMeetings and was not able to remove one
of the objects that I had put on the screen using this method.

 

What happened was that when I went to select the "arrow object" that I
wanted to remove, I had missed and selected the SlideShow itself.  Once
the SlideShow was selected, I was not able to select another object
until I had deselected the SlideShow (not realising this, I had thought
that the "Select Object" feature was not working, but it was just my
mistake because I had not realised the SlideShow was an object itself.

Hi George,

To remove single objects you can use the blank arrow select single
objects and then either use the delete key or click on the red square in
the virtual selection box.

For the undo I guess you're right, there seems to be an issue.
Thanks for checking a stable scenario, I will try to reproduce it and
fix the problem.

Please let me know if you can simulate this bug (I believe it has been
around since version 1.9)

 

Possible Fix: Instead of using a stack approach to undoing objects, why
not have a "remove/delete object tool", and when you point to an object
(other than any loaded document), the object is removed?  I have often
wanted to remove particular objects and not remove them in sequence.

 

Issue: Whiteboard objects are not removed (undone) in correct sequence
they are placed on the screen by multiple people.

 

Repeatable test: 

Step 1, Person A joins a Conference room and becomes the moderator of
the meeting.

Step 2, Person B joins a Conference room.

Step 3, Person A grants Person B "Draw on the Whiteboard" rights.

Step 4, Person A loads a file (slideshow, PDF) to the whiteboard   [NB:
this step is optional, but likely in real scenario]

Step 5, Person A draws one or more objects on the screen (for example
draws an ellipse around a word in the current slide) 

Step 6, Person B draws one or more objects on the screen (for example
draws an ellipse around a different word in the current slide) 

Step 7, Person A draws another draws an object on the screen (for
example an arrow)

Step 8, Person B draws another object on the screen (for example an
arrow) 

Step 9, Now if either Person A or Person B attempts to undo each object
that has been drawn to the screen, objects are not removed correctly.  I
am having difficulties in following exactly what is a happening, but I
think that on the screen of the person who is undoing the objects, the
object/s that were placed on the screen first before the other person
placed their object/s, cannot be undone but will then "float" or appear
on their view of the Whiteboard all the time, even the slides are
advanced.   Often the person who is undoing the objects, sees the any
remaining objects will keep clicking the Undo, which then remove the
loaded document from the other person's screen (but not their own).

Note: I believe that the object/s that remain on the screen after the
person has pressed the Undo button and cannot remove the object/s, only
display on the screen of the person who is doing the "Undoing".  The
other person's screen is cleared.

 

Can anyone better identify and explain what is actually happening. It
looks like OpenMeetings has an object stack for the first person to
place an object on the screen and when someone else places an object on
the Whiteboard, a global object stack is created, but the contents of
the first user's stack is not copied to the global stack, so when the
person attempts to "undo" each object from the global stack, the first
object/s on their own stack remain. 

 

While very annoying, this bug does not stop people from using
OpenMeetings, so I have delayed reporting it until now.
