Right now in https://mahout.apache.org/general/faq.html#where-can-i-find-the-origins-of-the-mahout-project words {{"Map-Reduce for Machine Learning on Multicore"}} are a link to {{nips06-mapreducemulticore.pdf}} wich results in 404.
It's probably better to use http://ai.stanford.edu/~ang/papers/nips06-mapreducemulticore.pdf
