[VOTE] Approve the release of apache-esme-1.0-RC1-incubating

Hi,

I have posted our candidate for the first Apache release developed
within the ESME podling.

This release contains Ethan's fix of the Security hole + his fix of
search. I've also removed the esme-java client
and added RC1 to the release name.

The candidate can be found at

http://people.apache.org/~rhirsch/esme/

See the CHANGES.txt file for details on release contents. The release
candidate is a tar archive
of the sources in
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/esme/tags/apache-esme-1.0-RC1-incubating/

The MD5 checksum of the apache-esme-1.0-RC1-incubating.src.tar.gz
release package is
35 72 D0 B3 49 3C C3 BA D5 4F 57 E8 EA 1D 9D 54

Please vote on releasing this package as Apache ESME 1.0-RC1-incubating
The vote is open for the next 72 hours and passes if
a majority of at least three +1 ESME PPMC votes is reached. Assuming
the vote passes, I will ask the Incubator PMC to approve the release.

[ ] +1 Release this package as Apache ESME 1.0-incubating
[ ] -1 Do not release this package because...

Here's my +1.

For future reference, I think the version in the pom.xml should be
"apache-esme-1.0-incubating" and not "apache-esme-1.0-RC1-incubating",
but it's not a reason to stop this release as far as I can see.

I'm going to close this tomorrow morning and move it to the general list.

If anyone else wants to vote on it, you still have got a few hours- :->

Ok, no problem then, Maven cannot detect that.

Good point.

I checked those yesterday. I'll add the Used undeclared dependencies
and I'm working on "Unused declared dependencies". One problem is our
out-of-the-box use of derby which isn't used directly but via JDBC
URL.

Checked rat report, LICENSE/NOTICE/DISCLAIMER etc., and build with mvn
jetty:run, all good.

I have committed the KEYS file at
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/esme/trunk/KEYS, it's useful
to have it there so that others (if needed) can add their keys.

A few comments for next time:
As esme-java-client is not in the tarball, I would have removed it
from https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/esme/tags/apache-esme-1.0-RC1-incubating/

mvn dependency:analyze still finds a number of "[Used undeclared
dependencies" and "Unused declared dependencies", should be fixed
eventually.

Thanks for your work on this!
