In evaluation of this short report, I can only assume what steps you have taken
to perform this task since you did not provide any specific part of your
procedure.
I attempted to replicate your problem scenario after I started a new document
in the following steps:
1. In the task bar, choose File --> Print
2. Under General tab, select the Properties button
3. Under Paper/Quality tab, there is an enclosed section labeled Tray Selection
in which I do not see any options to select a manual paper tray option, thus
I proceeded to the next step
4. Click the Advanced button under the Paper/Quality tab
5. In the drop down menu labeled Paper Size, there are 4 options for Envelopes;
Envelope #10, Envelope C5, Envelope C6, Envelope DL
I selected Envelope #10 as a test case and applied all changes and proceeded
to print a file under these settings.
I repeated steps 1 through 5 to see if any changes have applied from the print
job and noticed the drop down menu in step 5 reverted back to its default
Letter selection. I am not aware if this is a bug you are encountering since
printing jobs and preferences, in my experience, are usually adjusted per print
job. Thus, for me, this seems like a normal behavior. I have also viewed your
attachments and did not run across any of these pop up windows during my whole
printing process.
I did not see any features in which you can set preferences for specific
document types nor have I ever been aware of such features, so I am not sure
how to rectify this problem if it is, in fact, a bug. However, since there is
not much information provided on this problem, I am unsure if this is a bug in
the Open Office system or a functionality feature you would like to be
included. However, I do agree that having this feature would be particularly
useful and time-saving.
