[jira] [Created] (OOZIE-905) Clarify and improve Oozie logging
configuration and streaming
Robert Kanter created OOZIE-905:
-----------------------------------
Summary: Clarify and improve Oozie logging configuration and streaming
Key: OOZIE-905
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OOZIE-905
Project: Oozie
Issue Type: Improvement
Reporter: Robert Kanter
Assignee: Robert Kanter
Priority: Minor
Oozie's logging configuration has a number of "restrictions" which are not listed anywhere and aren't all obvious. There are also some improvements to the streaming log code that can be made to simplify it and make it more robust. Additionally, having the ability to automatically delete old log files can help prevent problems from having too many files in the same directory.

Alejandro Abdelnur commented on OOZIE-905:
------------------------------------------
+1. The auto-purge of log files is a very nice feature to avoid clogging the oozie server filesystem.
