Installation on apache and jserv without tomcat

Hi,

I am somewhat new to that point. Is there a way to install soap without
tomcat. I have found an article on the faq but the web server containg
it is currently down.

I am using apache on linux together with jserv. cocoon is also running. 

Any short hint is appreciated
