   Generic tables [have limitations](https://polaris.apache.org/releases/1.6.0/generic-table/#current-limitations) and the feature is [still in "beta"](https://polaris.apache.org/releases/1.6.0/generic-table/).
   
   Storing the schema as a property could easily add many kB or even MB to an entity representing a generic table, so that approach needs to be carefully revisited and assessed. I would not classify it as a viable option.
