lost my common bar

I need some help.

I've just lost my command bar at the top. I can't shrink the screen or save files except in the tool bar.

Are you in full-screen mode?  Try Ctrl+Shift+J (or 
Command+Shift+J).  Or just log off and on again.  (Dare I say "Have 
your tried turning it off and on again?"?!)
