Currently when trying to connect to Solr with the JDBC driver with a SQL client the driver must implement more methods and metadata to allow connections. This JIRA is designed to act as an umbrella for the JDBC changes. Some ideas for sub jiras include:
* implementing getMetadata method in ConnectionImpl
* add necessary metadata classes to support more advanced SQL clients
* implementing more methods in ConnectionImpl, StatementImpl, ResultSetImpl
* pass back schema info from sql handler to enable proper populations

An initial pass from a few months ago is here: https://github.com/risdenk/lucene-solr/tree/expand-jdbc. This needs to be broken up and include the recent changes to trunk. The branch has unrelated formatting changes that should be ignored.
