It would, but is there anybody who will implement this? Unless Preflight's original authors have the time to do this then it's unlikely to ever happen, especially as the PDF/A spec is not publicly available and must be purchased from the ISO.

I'd like to prevent multi-year "wish list" items from living on JIRA, we had many of these in the past and they just get forgotten about.

Can we assign this issue to somebody? If not then it's not actionable and we should close it.
