For now I took the freedom to fix https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/BIGTOP/How+to+build+Bigtop 

1) anonymous checkout is much simpler for average user. And it works for developers, too.

2) Please do not compile with {{sudo gradlew toolchain}}. We should use non-root. sudo is already used within the toolchain receipe.
