portlet communication question

Hi
I need to launch portlet from enother (including concrete page navigation)
im using liferay.. there are liferay-portlet taglib with iverloaded
renderURL tag
its seems to be just what i search for, but thus tag doesn't render itself
(stays as is in output)

maybe soomeone can show correct usage, or tell the other way to accoplish
portlet communication 
(jsf+liferay)
