Changing instance size on startup
Hey guys,
Sorry if this is a straightfoward question, but I couldn't find the
answer in the FAQ or the tutorial. I've successfully started a
Zookeepeer cluster on EC2 using the directions here.
http://whirr.apache.org/docs/0.8.2/whirr-in-5-minutes.html
However, this starts a cluster of m1.small instances. I want a 3 node
cluster of m1.xlarge instances. I found this configuration option
here.
http://whirr.apache.org/docs/0.8.2/configuration-guide.html#Image_and_Hardware_Selection_Options
--hardware-min-ram
Do I simply set this to be equal to the amount of ram in an m1.xlarge instance?
Thanks,
Todd

Its set in your recipe.
If you look through the different sample recipes you can get a better idea.
(Sorry I'm still relatively new to whirr.)

whirr.hardware-id=m1.xlarge
or
--hardware-id=m1.xlarge is what you need.
