[jira] [Commented] (GUACAMOLE-1208) Sort files by "date modified" in File Browser

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GUACAMOLE-1208?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17227607#comment-17227607 ]

Mike Jumper commented on GUACAMOLE-1208:
----------------------------------------

That information is currently not communicated within the Guacamole protocol, where these files are described as name+type pairs. That information would need to somehow be added, ideally in a backward-compatible way. Including that information within a MIME type parameter like {{application/octet-stream; modified=2020-11-06Z20:49:09}} might make sense, assuming these parameters are indeed arbitrary and we can define our own (or use an existing one) without violating standards.

> Currently it is only possible to sort files alphabetically in the File Browser. If it were possible to order them alternatively also by "modification date" it would facilitate the selection by the user (usually you want to download the recently created file).
