I recently got a failed build on a mac with this problem: [https://issues.redhat.com/browse/KEYCLOAK-4563]

 

The fix looks straightforward...add \{tarLongFileMode} configuration:

    <plugin>
        <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
        <artifactId>maven-assembly-plugin</artifactId>
        <configuration>
            <tarLongFileMode>posix</tarLongFileMode>
        </configuration>
    </plugin>
