[jira] Commented: (FELIX-569) Improve Configuration Page

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FELIX-569?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12842690#action_12842690 ]

Carsten Ziegeler commented on FELIX-569:
----------------------------------------

Hi Valentin, thanks for the patch. I couldn't apply it completly, I had problems with the template file.
However I agree that this tree based approach isn't very appealing :) The names are too long for a left-sided tree I think.

What about making a list of configurations similar to the bundle list? This could be a table with some column displaying the most important info. Clicking on a list opens a space to edit the config - like the bundle info but with a form.

We could also merge the two lists into a single one - displaying the pid of the factories together with the associated factory configs as kind of a group in the list, Clicking on the pid of the factory creates a new configuration.

WDYT?

> At the moment the way to select the Configuration page is not so user friendly.
> The more component you have , the more it get difficult to find in the drop down list.
> So to make it more easy I would suggest to introduce some kind of "Tree" browse with categorized component configuration eventually.
